Meet Our Staff

Tyshea Lewis, Associate Director

Tyshea earned her M.ED. in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education, a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology here at the UNC Greensboro. She began her work as a professional in 2013 just days after being the first UNCG Guarantee Scholar to graduate from the university. She has been dedicated to the students of UNCG Guarantee since that day. She also serves as a Bronze Leadership Cohort Leader, Silver Leadership Coach,  Spartans In Dialogue facilitator and a member of the Financial Literacy Taskforce. Tyshea is certified in Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Behavioral Health. In her free time, she enjoys listening to new music, painting motivational art and watching movies.

Briona Rivers, Graduate Assistant

Briona is the Graduate Assistant for the Guarantee Program, focusing on programming for First and Second Year Scholars. Briona graduated from UNCG in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Minor in English. She is currently continuing her education in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education (SAAHE) here at UNCG, where she will earn her Masters in Education in 2020. As an undergraduate at UNCG, Briona worked with various offices and departments on campus and discovered a passion for mentoring college students. She hopes to make a positive impact on students from her own experiences and continue to gain the skills necessary to develop students. She enjoys shopping, eating good food, and listening to her favorite old school music.

Melissa Lore, Undergraduate Assistant

Melissa is a senior from majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Studio Arts and Human Development & Family studies. Before becoming an Undergraduate Intern for The Guarantee, she served as a Cohort Captain in the Guarantee for two years. She is also a Student Reflection Leader for the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement and a member of the UNCG McNair program. In her free time, she enjoys watching football, traveling and adventuring, reading and drawing, and trying new things!

Shavonne Parker, Undergraduate Assistant

Shavonne is a senior, Elementary Education major with a concentration in Science. She hopes to teach second or third grade in the future but is passionate about the personal and academic development of all students. As an undergraduate assistant in the Guarantee office, she has helped other scholars locate resources on and off campus for their personal, academic, and career development. She has also gained experience in planning and hosting social events and service projects for specific cohorts and for all Guarantee scholars. In her free time, she also enjoys sitting outside in the sunshine or sometimes painting and spending time with her family and friends
